Gilded Helm Undone Tee
Power doesn't break quietly.
This is a graphic tee built around a single image that stops you mid-scroll — and mid-room.
A colossal gilded war helmet — hammered acanthus relief across every surface, a horsehair crest matted and stiff — is being crushed by one enormous hand. Fingers splayed. Knuckles white. Tendons at the point of rupture. The cheekpiece buckles inward, the crest snaps, and gold leaf fractures into shards that dissolve downward into long vertical scratches and raw ink drips against absolute black. The forearm cuts in from the upper edge of the frame, bodyless, anonymous. The helmet gives — dented, split, the engraved laurel on its brow cracking but still legible. Magnificent, even undone.
The illustration is rendered in dense, obsessive crosshatch — a bone-on-black monochrome in the tradition of 19th-century steel engraving, with the theatrical raking light of Caravaggio chiaroscuro. One ink. Every shadow built by hand-drawn line. The image sits high on the chest, its lower edge bleeding into dark, so the whole composition feels like it's emerging from the fabric itself.
The garment is a vintage black unisex tee in a soft, heavyweight cotton with a relaxed, slightly oversized cut that works across body types. The weight gives it structure; the vintage wash gives it depth. This isn't a thin souvenir print — it wears like a piece you've had for years and reach for first.
