The Artwork

A pale wyrm — ancient, limbless, scaled — cuts diagonally across the chest in a single bone-on-black halftone illustration. The head sits upper left, luminous and commanding: one enormous eye rendered in precise halftone midtones, clearly visible, almost unnervingly alive, catching cold light against pure black. From there the serpentine body coils down and across the torso, its scales built up in tight linear hatching and cross-hatching that rewards a close look. As the coils taper toward the lower right, the linework grows finer — progressively scratched and threadlike — before resolving into the cryptic two-word lockup IT NAMED EYES, set in widely-spaced capitals along the body's taper in the deep lower field. High contrast throughout. No gradients, no colour — just cream ink and darkness doing exactly what they're supposed to.
