The artwork is after an antique engraving held in a museum collection: an old master's line brought into the present on a streetwear silhouette. Persephone kneels at the moment of rupture — face thrown back between agony and ecstasy, the mandrake wrenched from black soil in her fist, its forked body human and writhing. Poppies and asphodel collapse inward around her knees. Her robes dissolve at the hem into root tendrils and dripping ink. The whole figure is rendered in dense cross-hatched monochrome — woodcut-textured, newsprint-heavy, Caravaggio shadow without a single soft edge — placed high on the chest, its lower edge dissolving into scratched drips and dark negative space. A small two-line lockup in widely-spaced capitals sits well below, quiet against the vast black field. One ink. Bone-cream on vintage white. That's everything, and it's enough.
