A mythology-meets-dark-botany statement piece — one image, rendered in dense monochrome ink, that does more talking than most people dare to.

The artwork is after an antique engraving from a museum collection: old master line and shadow, not a generated picture. Narcissus lies face-down in dark still water, his body mid-dissolution — one arm still human and flung wide, the other already becoming stem and petal, his form tangling into water-lilies and black reeds. Where his reflection should be, a skull sits garlanded with open blooms. The figure is placed high and large across the chest, its lower edge breaking apart into ink drips and root-like scratches, with vast black negative space below and a small two-line lockup in widely-spaced small capitals set far beneath — spare, deliberate, quietly unsettling. The whole thing is printed as a single bone-and-cream ink on black: a true black-and-cream monochrome illustration, heavy with Caravaggio chiaroscuro and botanical detail, with edges that dissolve rather than finish cleanly.

On a white heavyweight cotton unisex tee, the contrast hits hard. The fit is relaxed without being shapeless — it works across bodies, sits well untucked, and holds its shape wash after wash. This is the kind of garment you reach for when everything else feels too safe.

Perfect for:

• Worn with black jeans and boots as a complete look that needs nothing added

• Layered open under a dark overshirt for a more considered, gallery-ready fit

• The desk-to-bar rotation — dressed up or down without losing its edge

• Gifting to the person in your life who reads mythology, collects dark art, and owns nothing beige

The details:

• Garment colour: Black

• Ink: Bone/cream — single-colour monochrome halftone illustration

• Fit: Unisex relaxed fit

• Fabric: Soft heavyweight cotton

• Care: Machine wash cold, inside out, low tumble dry

If your wardrobe has room for one piece that actually means something — add this one.
