Rendered in a single bone-cream ink on black cotton, the composition is pure monochrome chiaroscuro: dense crosshatching, fine stipple, and the brutal light-and-shadow contrast of Caravaggio pressed flat onto fabric. A massive Saint Sebastian fills the chest — bound not to a post but to a towering flowering thistle stalk, his body arched back in full baroque agony. Every arrow has been replaced by a long thorned stem that has pierced clean through him and bloomed at the wound, petals falling past his ribs toward the hem. There, the figure dissolves — ink drips, scratch-marks, the image coming apart at the edges. Far below the composition, a small two-line lockup in widely-spaced capitals sits quiet in the dark space, almost a caption on a museum wall.
